The 2017 season of the Indian Premier League, abbreviated as IPL 10 branded as VIVO IPL 10, will be the tenth season of the IPL, a professional Twenty20 cricket league established by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) in 2007. The tournament will feature the eight teams that played in the previous season. The 2017 season is scheduled to start on 5 April 2017 and finish on 21 May 2017, with Hyderabad hosting the opening match and the final.
The retention lists for the season were announced in December 2016. The player auction for the season will be held on 20 February 2017 in Bangalore with 351 players available, shortlisted from the 799 players who had registered for the auction.
The 2017 season may see a new venue added for two matches. During the inauguration of the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in December 2016, the IPL chairman of IPL Rajiv Shukla suggested that two matches would be allocated subject to the completion of the stadium. IPL 2017 Schedule is also set by BCCI.
